Progression
The Journey advances in two tracks: the stars you collect across the map, and your personal Battle Level โ which grants a growing combat bonus, Echo's Blessing, and sets your rank on Echo's Ladder. Neither comes from combat XP โ your fighters grow through gear, skills, essence, and ascension; you grow as a player.
The decision this page frames: each session, do you push new nodes, go back and 3-star old ones for milestone RSNC, or Repeat cleared nodes to farm?
Starsโ
Every node clear is rated 0 to 3 stars, and your best-ever rating is kept for each node on each difficulty tier. With 16 nodes at 3 stars each, that's 48 stars per chapter, per tier.
| Stars | Roughly how you earn them |
|---|---|
| โ | Clear the node |
| โ โ | Clear it with fighters still standing |
| โ โ โ | Clear it clean (or fast enough on the tougher nodes) |
Stars are the map's real progression. They gate the next difficulty tier โ 3-star a whole chapter on Normal to unlock Hard (see Difficulty tiers) โ and they trigger star milestones that pay one-time RSNC for filling in a chapter's stars. Because milestones are one-time, back-filling old nodes you skipped is guaranteed value.
Battle Levelโ
Battle Level is your rank as a fighter โ separate from any single Avatar you own. You raise it by earning Battle XP (bXP) as you play the Journey: every clear pays bXP for the energy you spent, with bonus bXP for a node's first clear, for 3-starring it, and for chapter milestones (see Loot & rewards). It's the closest thing the Journey has to "your level," it's account-wide โ shared across your whole roster โ and it only ever goes up.
Your Battle Level then does two things: it grants Echo's Blessing (a combat bonus, below) and it sets your rank on Echo's Ladder (a title, further below).
Echo's Blessing โ the power your Battle Level grantsโ
Echo's Blessing is the combat bonus your Battle Level puts on your whole team โ the game keeping a promise the story makes early on: as you grow, your fighters grow with you. It raises the HP, Attack, and Defense of all three fighters in every Journey fight โ never Speed, and never in the Arena (PvP stays a pure test of your build).
The important part for a new player: the early levels are the strong ones. A brand-new fighter at Battle Level 1 already carries a +15% team bonus, and it climbs fast through the first stretch before easing off โ so you feel powerful getting off the ground, not fifty levels later.
| Battle Level | Echo's Blessing (team HP / Attack / Defense) |
|---|---|
| 1 | +15% |
| 5 | +27% |
| 10 | +42% |
| 20 | +72% |
| 50 | +117% |
| 90 | +147% |
The curve is +3% per level up to Level 20, then +1.5% per level to Level 50, then +0.75% beyond โ front-loaded on purpose so new players get a real lift immediately, then a long, steady climb for veterans.
The bonus is measured off your Effective Battle Level (below), so every 10 Tune-In levels quietly adds one more level of Blessing on top of what you've earned by playing.
Echo's Ladderโ
Where Echo's Blessing is the power your Battle Level grants, Echo's Ladder is the title it earns you โ a rank from 1 to 10, computed from your Effective Battle Level:
Effective Battle Level = Battle Level + โ Tune-In level รท 10 โ
So every 10 Tune-In levels count as a bonus Battle Level on top of what you've earned by playing โ lifting both your Blessing and your ladder rank. The ten ranks run Echo โ Signal โ Pulse โ Cadence โ Harmonic โ Overtone โ Amplitude โ Crescendo โ Reverb โ Resonant; the rank is a badge of how far you've come, and the higher bands also lift your RSNC multiplier on Journey loot.
Choosing where to playโ
Your three moves each session are:
- Push new nodes โ for first-clear rewards, boss first-clear RSNC, and new ground.
- 3-star old nodes โ for star milestones and to unlock the next difficulty tier.
- Repeat cleared nodes โ for a steady flow of ingredients and Essence once a node is 3-starred and first-cleared.
A healthy rhythm mixes all three: push while content is fresh, circle back to clean up stars for milestones, then Repeat the nodes you've mastered to keep the Kitchen and your Roster stocked.
